THE HARDEST STEP IS THE FIRST STEP OUT YOUR FRONT DOOR!

I can't believe it has been TWO WEEKS since Boston!  I thought May 1st would be a good day to turn over a new leaf and start running again.  I NEED a new running GOAL- something to keep me motivated.  I feel so much better when I'm running.

I felt like I was the Tin Man in Wizard of OZ the first mile.  It took a mile or two for my joints to feel oiled up again.  However, it felt good to finally get out there in the damp Spring air!

Sleep- I thought I would start tracking my sleep since I've been so TIRED since Boston.  Last night 1:30am-7:30am.  Dragging today.

35 min Tempo Treadmill Run. 8:30 pace for about 10 minutes.  Held it between 7:19 to 7:30 for about 20 minutes.  Back to 8:00 for the last 5 minutes.  PA- 7:32 (I had to take one break in the middle because my 3 yr old needed help with something.  I stopped the treadmill and then started back up again).

Sleep- fell asleep on my kids' floor around 10pm I think.  Woke at 12:15am with a kink in my neck.  3-yr-old woke up at 2:15am.  It wasn't very comfortable or continuous sleep, however, at least I got over 8 hours!

Nice and easy run in the misty humidity today with Aubree (who pushed 2 kids in a stroller).

 74 minutes.  PA 10:03

Sleep-  1:30am-7:00am.  I stayed up trying to get caught up on the papers that are piling on my desk.  No wonder I'm dragging.

1 mile warm up. 5k FUN RUN.  Unofficial time: 23:06.  PA - 7:26.

Aubree and I used the Cranbrook Fun Run for our beginning of training time trial.  It was a beautiful course.  I went out a little fast because I thought I was going to hit the clock on the right.  I got a side ache 1/2 way through.  Also, my vision seemed blurred - not because I was running fast but because I think I'm getting old and need contacts!

I had a lot left in me at the end, but I slowed down in the middle and walked up two hills.  I ran this pace several splits of my marathon.  I NEED TO WORK ON MENTAL STAMINA!  Any suggestions?

 Sleep- 11:30pm - 7:00am
