Running Around Running Blog at FastRunningBlog.Com http://MaryMary.fastrunningblog.com/ Sat, 20 Apr 2024 05:50:53 FeedCreator 1.7.2 Sat, Oct 01, 2022 http://MaryMary.fastrunningblog.com/blog-10-01-2022.html <p>It&#39;s been a while since I&#39;ve logged my running.&nbsp; It looks like I got a PR in St. George!&nbsp; Boston 2014 was an amazing experience and I haven&#39;t had the desire to run another marathon since.&nbsp; Thanks to Becca, I&#39;ve run a couple 1/2 marathons in the last few years.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Time- 1:40:24;&nbsp; Ave Pace - 7:39</p> <p>Splits:<br /> 1 - 8:02<br /> 2 - 7:11<br /> 3 - 7:25<br /> 4 - 7:51<br /> 5 - 7:39<br /> 6 - 7:40 *Bathroom Break<br /> 7 - 7:00<br /> 8 - 7:39<br /> 9 - 6:58<br /> 10 - 7:13<br /> 11 - 7:25<br /> 12 - 7:42<br /> 13</p> <p>The weather was beautiful and I was surprised at how fast the time flew!&nbsp; I had forgotten what to eat and pack on the course.&nbsp; I packed way to much stuff.&nbsp; This blog will be good for me to track what to do again.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Nutrition</p> <p>Day before - Most calories at Breakfast (1/2 bagel + eggs, and avacado toast on sourdough) and Lunch&nbsp;(Costa Vida Regular size salad).&nbsp; Becca and I had a cut off time of eating at 5:00pm (13 hours before race).&nbsp; Great idea to cut off!&nbsp; I needed my stomach to start digesting.&nbsp;&nbsp;Dinner (apples &amp; PB, fruit stick, 1/2 bagel).</p> <p>Morning of - 2 hours before race eat (water, 1/2 bagel with PB, honey &amp; 1/3 banana, 2 Pepto Bismal); 30 minutes fruit stick.&nbsp; Next time eat a full bagel and zip fizz starting to sip at 4:30 until race.&nbsp; It was too hard to hold the waterbottle with zip fizz while running.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>During Race - I didn&#39;t really get to my nutrition in my pockets.&nbsp; I mostly had sips of Gatorade and water at the aid stations.&nbsp; Next time - try 1/2 Gu at mile 4 or 5 and 1/2 Gu at 8 or 9 with a caffine salt tab.</p> <p>Post Race - What ever you want!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> Sat, 01 Oct 2022 06:00:00
